The alias of Belgian producer Francois Boulanger, Ssaliva was created for ambient explorations of a new kind. Consisting of a trilogy of 10” EP releases on Vlek Data this exploratory work began onthe RZA EP and continues with the Sync Thrills EP, where it reaches a new apex. If the music on RZA were sonic dream vignettes, etchings found at the back of one’s retina upon waking up, Sync Thrillsis the soundtrack to an imaginary science fiction movie, a soundtrack with narcoleptic properties.
❝This EP has been long awaited since the RZA EP. His unique way to create his own soundscape is so wonderful and innocent. It can affect everyone but it is inviolable. Old dusty synthesizers swaying around your synchroinzed thoughts… MASQ is the first tune of a brilliant soundscape and you can already imagine what will happen in the next 24 minutes. A*I puts you into a trance. Weightless grows the vocal sample and atmosphere in your mind and you can imagine your own picture to it. Yet Another Vase is a nice lo-fi loop and all I could do was nod addicted. I caught myself while singing weird things to URANUS 7766 and I was totally lost in AA FLOOR because it sounds like the movies “Im Staub der Sterne” from 1976 and “Na Srebrnym Globie” from ’77 have been knit together tightly. That’s what I call old school future… Thanks Vlek Data!❞
